that Jesus prayed for in the following verses:
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matt 28:18-20 NIV
The Scriptures above describe an appearance of Jesus Christ after His
resurrection. He appeared to His disciples and sent them to spread the
message of the Gospel to the whole world. Spoiler Alert!! Jesus is talking
to men whose travel was limited to being on foot, on beasts or on
boats. Miraculously, less than 20 years later, the statement is made that:
“These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.”
Acts 17:6 KJV
Now, it’s our turn. We have the technology to spread the Gospel to every
soul on the earth without walking a mile, riding a mule or risking getting
shipwrecked like Apostle Paul.
LET’S SEIZE THE MOMENT AND “GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS!”
“GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS”
The passage of Scriptures above recounts one of the appearances of the Lord Jesus Christ after He had been resurrected from death. Jesus met with His disciples and gave them final instructions to spread the message of His death, burial and resurrection to the whole world. It is quite unusual that an assignment to reach the whole world was given to a generation of men who did most of their traveling with Jesus by going from town to town on foot.
Over twenty centuries later, the same calling “to make disciples of all nations” is expected to be accomplished by our generation. Unlike the followers of Jesus in the above Scriptures, we have the means to travel physically from continent to continent in the space of hours. Also, we are traveling via the internet to every grouping of people on the earth without having to cross a time zone or even cross a street. The opportunity belongs to you and to me to use the technical resources at our fingers to expand the Kingdom of God by participating in “The Great Commission” together. May we all rise to the occasion granted to us and “GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS”.
“TAKE THE…SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD”
Eph 6:17
